All personal information you provide to 3RealMates will be kept strictly confidential. 3RealMates endeavours to respect the confidentiality of all personal data.

At 3RealMates, our mission is to empower our youths to achieve more. We are doing this by building a effective careers program, reinventing skills development and learning and making education more achievable. In all of this, we will maintain the timeless value of privacy and preserve the ability for you to control your data.

 

HOW WE HANDLE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

This include account privacy, how we collect and use non-student registrants and student registrants collected information.

With a 3RealMates account, you can sign into 3RealMates services, as well as those of select 3RealMates partners. Personal data associated with your 3RealMates account includes credentials, name and contact data, payment data, device and usage data, your contacts, information about your activities, and your interests and favourites. Signing into your 3RealMates account enables personalisation and consistent experiences across products and devices, permits you to use cloud data storage, allows you to make payments using payment instruments stored in your 3RealMates account, and enables other features.

Accessing and controlling your personal data

You can also make choices about the collection and use of your data by 3RealMates. You can control your personal data that 3RealMates has obtained, and exercise your data protection rights, by contacting 3RealMates or using various tools we provide. In some cases, your ability to access or control your personal data will be limited, as required or permitted by applicable law. How you can access or control your personal data will also depend on which products you use. For example, you can:

  • Control the use of your data for interest-based advertising from 3RealMates by letting us know specifically which parties or services you do not wish your information to be shared with.
  • Choose whether you wish to receive promotional emails, SMS messages, telephone calls and post/mail from 3RealMates.
  • Access and clear some of your data by e-mailing [email protected].

Data Ownership and Deleting an Account

The 3RealMates account owner is the owner of any data and Personal Information submitted through 3RealMates. If a user would like to delete their 3RealMates account, the user can do so at any time by contacting [email protected]. A Student’s Teacher, Parent, or Legal Guardian can also request that their Student’s account be deleted at any time by contacting [email protected]. Please include the Student user’s username and email address (when applicable) so that we can better comply with your request.

When an account is deleted, we delete all Personal Information (name, username, password, email address, and profile photos) associated with the account. Information that student, parent, or teacher users have shared with others will also be deleted. Information or content that other users may have copied and stored may not be deleted. For example, if a student uses content in his or her 3RealMates that was shared by another student, then that copied content may not be deleted.

We maintain our services in a manner that protects information from accidental or malicious deletion. Because of this, even after you update or delete Personal Information you have provided us from our Service, your Personal Information may be retained in our backup files and archives for a reasonable period of time as necessary for our legitimate business interests, such as fraud detection and prevention and enhancing safety. For example, we may retain certain information from that account to prevent that user from opening a new account in the future. Also, we may retain and use your Personal Information to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations.

Additional Information

At 3RealMates, (“the site,” “we,” “us,” “our”), we know that you care about how personal information is used and shared. We also take your privacy very seriously. By accessing or using the Services (including without limitation the mobile version of the 3RealMates.com website (the “Mobile Site”) and the 3RealMates mobile application(s) available via the Apple App Store and the Android Marketplace (collectively, the “Mobile Application”), you acknowledge that you accept the practices and policies outlined in this Privacy Policy.

When using the term “Personal Information,” we are referring to personally identifiable information of individual, non-student registrants of 3RealMates. References to “Children’s Personal Information” refer only to the personally identifiable information of users who have registered for the Services as minor students (i.e., students under the age of 18).

This privacy policy contains detailed information about how we collect and use personal information. Collection of Personal Information

When using the term “Personal Information,” we are referring to personally identifiable information of individual, non-student registrants of 3RealMates, including but not just limited to, mentors, trainers, support person/s. “Personal Information” can be identified as any information that you voluntarily submit to us, such as:

  • Your name;
  • School Email address;
  • School name;
  • City, state, and country.

We will often request this information when you:

  • Register or create a profile on the Site;
  • Inquire about our 3RealMates, and its products or services;
  • Request support;
  • Join an online community, forum, or message board;
  • Send us an email;
  • Enter a contest or complete a survey; or
  • Otherwise, contact us using Personal Information.

Certain actions that you perform on the Site may trigger the collection of additional Personal Information. Here are some examples:

Forums and Message Boards

Please be aware that any Personal Information as well as any other information or content that you post on a forum or message board, or otherwise disclose may be viewed by other 3RealMates users. We cannot control the actions of other users with whom you may choose to share information. You should have no expectation of privacy with respect to your communications through these Forums and Message Boards.

Contests

We may, from time to time, sponsor contests or other events (“Events”) which require the collection, processing, and storage of individual contact information and demographic information of those wishing to participate. These Events may prompt participants to answer survey questions. 

Any personally identifiable information collected in connection with these Events will be treated as Personal Information. No purchase is ever necessary to participate in an Event. Please see the official rules of each Event for more information. We may co-sponsor Events with other companies, in which case any information collected is likely to be shared with participating sponsors, who may use this information as they wish. A registrant’s personal contact information will not be released to any Third Party organization, other than the named sponsors, without the registrant’s consent.

You may choose to register or enter a contest on behalf of another person. The personal information of another person also constitutes Personal Information.

Collection of Children’s Personal Information

Collection
When using the term “Children’s Personal Information,” we are referring to personally identifiable information of users who have registered for the Services as minor students (i.e., students under the age of 18) with the consent of a parent, guardian, or either teacher or school administrator consenting on behalf of a parent or guardian. “Children’s Personal Information” can be identified as any information that students voluntarily submit to us, such as:

  • First name;
  • Last name;
  • Birth year
  • And school email address.

We will often request this information when students:

  • Register or create a profile for the 3RealMates program;
  • Request support;
  • Send us an email;
  • Enter a contest or complete a survey.

We may also collect the IP addresses of child user’s computers, which may be considered in some circumstances to be personally identifiable information. 

Certain actions that children perform on the Site may trigger the collection of additional Personal Information. 

 

Use of Personal Information

No Personal Information that makes identity and location known to the public will be released without authorization.

We may use your Personal Information for one or more of the following purposes:

  • The specific purposes for which you provide the information to us;
  • To fulfill your requests for, products, services, programs, subscriptions, and offerings;
  • To send you information about your transactions with us;
  • To send you a confirmation or to notify you that you have won a contest;
  • To provide you with notification of the Site’s new products, programs, services, or features;
  • To enhance or develop the Site’s features, products, or services; or
  • To personalize content you and others see on the Site.

We may also use the Personal Information we collect for internal purposes, which may require the transfer of such information to our other offices, affiliates, or Third Party service providers. This transfer may be necessary for administrative purposes, technical maintenance, communication about customer service issues and changes to 3RealMates. 3RealMates will not share your personal information with third party advertisers.

Except as set forth in this Privacy Policy, 3RealMates is not responsible for the confidentiality of any information communicated to 3RealMates and such information will be considered non-personal, non-confidential, and non-proprietary. You agree that 3RealMates may use anything you post or submit, including any feedback, information, and ideas, for the purpose of marketing 3RealMates, or for any other purpose without limitation and without the need to compensate you. You agree not to take action against 3RealMates or its owner in relation to content you submit when visiting the Site.

 

Use of Children’s Personal Information

3RealMates forums and showcase

Be aware that any Children’s Personal Information as well as any other information or content that children post to their profile within the 3RealMates Student profiles, or otherwise disclose may be collected. We cannot control the actions of students who may choose to share personal information in their 3RealMate exchange, however, note that all involved would have signed a mentor or mentee of conduct (found below). 

Parent, guardians, teachers and school administrators consenting on behalf of a parent or guardian have a responsibility to monitor the content of student exchanges and report inappropriate, offensive, or dangerous content to 3RealMates by sending an email to [email protected].

Use

Children’s Personal Information is used and retained exclusively for educational purposes. 3RealMates will not use Children’s Personal Information for commercial purposes including but not limited to marketing or online advertising unless consented to do so such as testimonials and sharing their experiences.

3RealMates may use the Children’s Personal Information for internal purposes, which may require the transfer of such information to our affiliates or Third Party service providers. This transfer may be necessary for administrative purposes, technical maintenance, content improvements, and communication about customer service issues. This is in solely for the purpose to resolve problems within the system or to update our current system.

No Personal Information of Children that makes identity and location known to the public will be made visible on the 3RealMates site and web services without authorization from a Student’s Teacher or without express written permission from the Teacher or the Student’s Parent or Legal Guardian.

Security Measures

We make concerted good faith efforts to maintain the security of all personal information. We have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures in order to secure the information we collect online, prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, prevent fraud, ensure the correct use of information, and for risk management purposes. Among our security procedures includes the encryption of Personal Information and Children’s Personal Information both in transit and at rest. 

While we work hard to ensure the security of our systems, no practices are completely immune from hackers and other digital threats. Outages, human error, cyber-attacks, unauthorized use, or other factors may compromise the security of user information. If we learn of a security breach, we will attempt to notify you electronically so that you can take the appropriate protective steps. We will also post a notice on 3RealMates and depending on where you live, you may have the right to receive notice of security breach in writing. 

3RealMates has a “Data Protection Officer” who is responsible for matters relating to privacy and data collection. 3RealMates Student and Tutor Safety Protocol

HOW WE HANDLE YOUR SIGN UP PROCESS

Consent required by either a guardian or teacher

3RealMates requires a parent or guardian to provide consent before a child under the age of 18 can create a 3RealMates account and be officially registered to the 3Realmates program. Teachers and school administrators may provide consent on behalf of parents under necessary circumstances. Parents should consult their school’s Acceptable Use Policy for more information about their child’s school’s policies and practices for protecting children on the Internet. As a teacher or school administrator, it is your responsibility to confirm that you have authority to consent on behalf of your student’s parents.

During the 3Realmates Tutor registration process, we collect information to help us verify the Educator’s account (i.e., first and last name and email address). 

Teachers may provide consent for a child under the age of 18 electronically by assisting in the registration of Student accounts through the distribution of a unique class code associated with the Teacher’s account provided that they confirm their authority to consent, and affirmatively indicate consent, on behalf of a parent or guardian of each such student to the collection of personal information from that student by 3RealMates and to the use of such personal information under the terms of this Privacy Policy.

Parents can provide consent by email or postal mail for their children to use 3RealMates. Complete email instructions are provided in the parental consent form available below:

If you are a student registrant and your parent or guardian has signed up for the Services with an Access Code provided by your teacher, you understand that your parent or guardian can view, manage, and delete all information within or associated with your account by contacting

If we learn we have collected personal information from a student under the age of 18 without parental consent being obtained by his or her parent, school, district, and/or teacher, we will delete that information as quickly as possible. If you believe that a student under the age of 18 has provided us with personal information in violation of the 3RealMates Privacy Policy, please contact us at [email protected] with “Attn: Privacy Policy” in the email subject line.

Aggregate Information

Collection

We may collect and use general, non-identifying information (“Aggregate Information”) to improve the content of our Site, for systems administration, and for troubleshooting purposes. This Site’s servers may automatically collect information including:

  • Your Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, which can identify the location from which you entered the Internet;
  • The type of web browser you use;
  • The type of operating system you use, such as your company or the domain name of -your Internet Service Provider (“ISP”); and
  • Web Pages that you visit;
  • and the number of pages you visit.

Use

We may use Aggregate Information to help improve use of 3RealMates. For example, we may use this information to analyze trends to improve the Site’s design and content as well as to help diagnose technical problems.

Sharing Aggregate and Personal Information

3RealMates will not share Aggregate or Personal Information with Third Parties unless authorized to do so, if we believe in good faith that the law requires it, to protect the rights of 3RealMates, or as part of a sale disposition of our assets (including our membership and customer records). We may also use and disclose Personal Information to comply with any court order or government investigation, subpoena or inquiry, as otherwise required by law, or to protect the property or personal safety of 3RealMates, users of the Site, or the public. We may also use and disclose Personal Information to prevent or trace abuses of the Site, including but not limited to use of a forum or message boards.

 

Users Located Outside Australia
When you use 3RealMates, you are consenting to have your data transferred to and processed in Australia. The servers that 3RealMates uses are currently located in Australia, and we aren’t able to process your information within the borders of any other country. Given this limitation, if your use of the Services or disclosure of certain information to 3RealMates would violate any law that is applicable to you, your right to use the Services and/or disclose such information is revoked, as it is wherever use of the Services is prohibited by law.

3RealMates complies with the European General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) regarding the collection, use, and retention of Personal Information from European Union to Australia. 3RealMates processes Personal Information as a Controller, as defined in the GDPR. When teachers, students, school leaders, and parents enter information directly into our Service, 3RealMates will generally be the Controller for the user data, as outlined above in the “Information We Collect and How We Use It” section of this document.

Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies

When you visit the Site you will be issued a “cookie,” a small text file placed on your user’s hard drive to track your use of the Site. Cookies help to prevent you from having to register or re-enter your information every time you visit the Site. Cookies are also used to authenticate your identity and provide us with certain information about your computer but will not interfere with the operation of your computer. We may use cookies to gain knowledge of Internet usage and to improve the Site’s content.

If you would like to avoid cookies, your web browser may have an option that enables you to disable or not accept cookies. Please note, however, that some aspects of the Site may not function properly if you choose to disable or not accept cookies.

 

Our use of cookies and similar technologies

3RealMates uses cookies and similar technologies for several purposes, depending on the context or product, including:

  • Storing your preferences and settings. We use cookies to store your preferences and settings on your device, and to enhance your experiences. For example, if you enter your city or postcode to get local news or weather information on a 3RealMates website, depending on your settings, we store that data in a cookie so that you will see the relevant local information when you return to the site. Saving your preferences with cookies, such as your preferred language, prevents you from having to set your preferences repeatedly.
  • Sign-in and authentication. We use cookies to authenticate you. When you sign into a website using your personal 3RealMates account, we store a unique ID number, and the time you signed in, in an encrypted cookie on your device. This cookie allows you to move from page to page within the site without having to sign in again on each page. You can also save your sign-in information, so you do not have to sign in each time you return to the site.
  • Security. We use cookies to process information that helps us secure our products, as well as detect fraud and abuse.

  • Feedback. 3RealMatesuses cookies to enable you to provide feedback on a website.

You can opt out of receiving interest-based advertising from 3Realmates as described in the access and control your personal data section of this privacy statement.
  • Showing advertising. 3RealMates uses cookies to record how many visitors have clicked on an advertisement and to record which advertisements you have seen, for example, so you don’t see the same one repeatedly.
  • Analytics. We use first- and third-party cookies and other identifiers to gather usage and performance data. For example, we use cookies to count the number of unique visitors to a web page or service and to develop other statistics about the operations of our products.
  • Performance. 3RealMates uses cookies to understand and improve how our products perform. For example, we use cookies to gather data that helps with load balancing; this helps ensure that our websites remain up and running.

Some of the cookies we commonly use are listed below. This list is not exhaustive, but it is intended to illustrate the primary purposes for which we typically set cookies. If you visit one of our websites, the site will set some or all of the following cookies:

  • MUID, MC1 and MSFPC. Identifies unique web browsers visiting 3RealMates sites. These cookies are used for advertising, site analytics and other operational purposes.
  • ANON. Contains the ANID, a unique identifier derived from your 3RealMates account, which is used for advertising, personalisation and operational purposes. It is also used to preserve your choice to opt out of interest-based advertising from 3RealMates if you have chosen to associate the opt-out with your 3RealMates account.
  • CC. Contains a country code as determined from your IP address.
  • PPAuth, MSPAuth, MSNRPSAuth, KievRPSAuth, WLSSC, MSPProf. Helps to authenticate you when you sign in with your 3RealMates account.
  • MC0. Detects whether cookies are enabled in the browser.
  • MS0. Identifies a specific session.
  • NAP. Contains an encrypted version of your country, postcode, age, gender, language and occupation, if known, based on your 3RealMates account profile.
  • MH. Appears on co-branded sites where 3RealMates is partnering with an advertiser. This cookie identifies the advertiser, so the right ad is selected.
  • childinfo, kcdob, kcrelid, kcru, pcfm. Contains information that 3RealMates account uses within its pages in relation to child accounts.
  • MR. Used to collect information for analytics purposes.
  • x-ms-gateway-slice. Identifies a gateway for load balancing.
  • TOptOut. Records your decision not to receive interest-based advertising delivered by 3RealMates.

In addition to the cookies 3RealMates sets when you visit our websites, third parties can also set cookies when you visit 3RealMates sites. For example:

  • Companies we hire to provide services on our behalf, such as site analytics, place cookies when you visit our sites. See opt out links below.
  • Companies that deliver content, such as videos or news, or ads on 3RealMates sites, place cookies on their own. These companies use the data they process in accordance with their privacy policies, which may enable these companies to collect and combine information about your activities across websites, apps or online services.

How to control cookies

  • Most web browsers automatically accept cookies but provide controls that allow you to block or delete them. 
  • You can block or delete cookies by selecting Settings >Privacy & Security  >Clear Browsing data > Cookies and saved website data from the web browser you’re using. You can refer to that browser’s instructions by searching through the internet in their particular program usage.
  • Certain features of 3RealMates services depend on cookies. If you choose to block cookies, you cannot sign in or use some of those features, and preferences that are dependent on cookies will be lost. If you choose to delete cookies, any settings and preferences controlled by those cookies, including advertising preferences, are deleted and will need to be recreated.
  • Additional privacy controls that can impact cookies, including the Tracking Protection feature of 3RealMates browsers, are described in the access and control your personal data section of this privacy statement.

Web Beacons

We may use web beacons to gather metrics from anonymous web users and email recipients for the purpose of operating and improving the Site and email communications. A web beacon is an electronic image that is embedded in a web page or email which allows us to track when users view a web page or recipients open an email containing a beacon. We do not identify the name of a web user or the email address of a web recipient when we use web beacons.

Our use of web beacons and analytics services

Some 3RealMates webpages contain electronic tags known as web beacons that we use to help deliver cookies on our websites, count users who have visited those websites and deliver co-branded products. We also include web beacons or similar technologies in our electronic communications to determine whether you open and act on them.

In addition to placing web beacons on our own websites, we sometimes work with other companies to place our web beacons on their websites or in their advertisements. This helps us to, for example, develop statistics on how often clicking on an advertisement on a 3RealMates website results in a purchase or other action on the advertiser’s website. It also allows us to understand your activity on the website of a 3RealMates partner in connection with your use of a 3RealMates product or service.

Finally, 3RealMates services often contain web beacons or similar technologies from third-party analytics providers, which help us compile aggregated statistics about the effectiveness of our promotional campaigns or other operations. These technologies enable the analytics providers to set or read their own cookies or other identifiers on your device, through which they can collect information about your online activities across applications, websites, or other products. However, we prohibit these analytics providers from using web beacons on our sites to collect or access information that directly identifies you (such as your name or email address). You can opt out of data collection or use by some of these analytics providers e-mailing to info@3RealMates and with the e-mail titled “Attn: Opt Out Google Analytics”

Other similar technologies

In addition to standard cookies and web beacons, our products can also use other similar technologies to store and read data files on your computer. This is typically done to maintain your preferences or to improve speed and performance by storing certain files locally. But, like standard cookies, these technologies can also store a unique identifier for your computer, which can then track behaviour. These technologies include Local Shared Objects (or “Flash cookies”).

 

Third Parties

This policy does not apply to websites or practices of companies that 3RealMatesdoes not own or control, or to individuals that 3RealMates does not employ or manage.

Third Party Advertisements

3RealMates will not share Personal Information or Children’s Personal Information with online advertisers.

Hyperlinks and Embedded Video Content
We may post hyperlinks to Third Party websites (“Third Party Sites”). We cannot control the actions of Third Party Sites,  and are not responsible for their use of any information that you provide directly to them. We advise you to take the time to educate yourself about the privacy policy and terms of use of any website that you visit. We do not control or endorse Third Party Sites.

Content from Third Party Sites may be embedded in content on 3RealMates. These Third-Party Sites may download cookies to your computer, or use other technologies to measure the effectiveness of their content. We do not have access to or control of the cookies that may be placed on your computer by the Third-Party Sites. The Third Party Sites do not have access to Personal Information or Children’s Personal Information stored on the Site.
